Biography:
Dr. Latiena F. Williams is a focused Florida native who is passionate about addressing health disparities. As an educator, she has had the opportunity to teach students from a variety of backgrounds, ​cultures, and disciplines. She has a strong background in pediatrics, public health, and in helping students understand vulnerable populations. She is deeply familiar with her community and is a great resource for other healthcare professionals in identifying community needs and opportunities. She is very interested in health policy and has completed an internship in Washington, DC. The focus of this was working with other nurse leaders nationally on increasing access to healthcare with a focus on social determinants of health. She has given many national and international presentations and authored several scholarly publications. Her recent research focused on the strengthening community partnerships that may improve health outcomes among persons experiencing homelessness.
